restless a night.
a toss and a turn
repetitive is its motion.
a tiny room, all to large
for someone so small.
goodness oh my...
thoughts fail to subside.
lie awhile...
stare through a darken night...
where city lights dance and flicker...
reflecting outside commotion.
while late night wanders roam quiet street corners.
murmured conversations
hum and buzz, all the way up.
to a 4th floor dorm window.
where silently a lass combats her past.
lifeless upon a cold harsh bed.
deep in her mind... she drones on and on.
inner battles, rage and fight on.
heart's destined for broken.
as tears, she lets fall.
for they burn and sting on the way down.
a world spins round.
forcing her to carry on.
cars honk as sirens sound.
common nature...
impatient people.
for no one cares...
or stops to listen.
aimlessly she wanders...
through lonesome roads and corridors
fumbling to and fro.
she stumbles into rooms,
lively and aglow.
faces anew, turn swiftly towards her.
unexpected listeners.
lend a helping hand
patiently heed her lecture.
kindness lines their hearts.
comfort and honest trust.
few rarely hear, let alone notice silent grieving.
the depth of another's being.
sometimes tainted and painted.
obscured by practiced and artful acting.
until stories surface and tears linger.
mournful a sight, for a petty heart does find...
compassion in unexpected eyes.
