Home

Thus, solitude is found.
To where I belong.
Nostalgia of the heart.
A hollow empty part.
Carry me back.
To when it was easier
Simpler than this.

Burdens fall upon the ground.
Like shackles that surround.
Biding and foreboding.
Mercy, nowhere to be found.
I’m coming home.
To where life grows….
To where I blossom and bloom.
For I die in winter’s gloom.
A shadow only to consume.
As spells cast upon me now.
Shoulders once poised....
Dignified and proud.
Now slouch towards the ground.
Heavy a heave….
This world’s left me worn.
Dreary is my heart.
Empty is my soul.
Let pour the rain fall.
Let it wash all around.
For I am too proud to cry out.
I’m coming home.
To where my roots are.
To where love and compassion surround.
Sovereignty, I’ve found.
Rejoice for I sing out.
Harmony thunders and sounds.
A breeze through the trees.
Kissing hellos across my cheeks.
Swirling and twirling
my hair dances about...
Boundaries hold me naught.
For I stand on familiar grounds.
That know me and show me.
Beauty is to be found.
I’m coming home…
Guided by memories.
Roads I know by heart.
Eyes closed…
I see it now.
Speeding through the night.
Past river rat towns
And fisherman banks.
Ore lands of fields.
Speckled with farm lights.
Hills rolling with life.
Under snow covered ice.
There’s a hush and glow.
Reflected in star lit snow.
Pensive all the while.
Patient now…
Tis a long mile.
For its hidden from the world.
A home meant not for strangers.
Turn sharp…
Miss it not.
An old dirt road…
I’m almost home.
Just a corner’s turn.
Pull up the drive.
House lights on.
Screen doors open wide.
I’m home….
